I am extremely proud of myself. I just bought 2 pairs of boots for fall for only $25. Unheard of, right? This is how I did it:
First, my co-worker told me about JustFab.com, an online subscription retailer specializing in shoes, handbags, and jewelry.
Second, I signed up. How it works is, you fill out a questionnaire about your personal style and on the first of each month, the site emails you a "personal boutique" with looks they think you might like based on your preferences. As a subscriber, you get special discounts, so each look in your boutique is only $39.95.
For signing up, not only did I get the special pricing of $39.95 per pair of boots, but I also got 50% OFF my first pair of shoes or handbag! So, the 50% off, marked my first pair of boots down to $19.95. For my second pair of boots, I unknowingly chose a pair on clearance for $14.95! THEN I got another $10 OFF as a new subscriber. As a subscriber, I also get FREE shipping, so after all my discounts my total came to $24.90!
Sounds too good to be true? Not really. The thing to remember is you only get 50% off on your first purchase as a new member. The other thing to keep in mind is this a subscription service. You will receive your personalized email with different styles on the first of each month, and then you only have until the 5th of each month to "skip" the month if you don't see something you want to buy. If you do not remember to skip the month by the 5th your account will be charged the $39.95 subscription fee and you will be assigned JustFab credit. On one hand, it's annoying because you have to remember to skip the month if you don't want to buy anything and don't want to be charged. On the other hand, even if you do forget, you will receive credit for the payment that can be used to buy something else later on (at any time). It's not like you've just lost that money. I'm just going to create a calendar reminder for myself each month, so I will know to skip if I'm not interested in anything.
Since I have just recently signed up, I can't comment on what I think of the subscription service as whole let, but I am certainly pleased with my JustFab experience.
