I don’t tan anymore, not ever. In fact, I’d describe myself as a shade seeker these days. That being said, I do admit to missing the tanning beds on days like today; it’s freezing, my lips are practically purple, and I look rather pale. Did I mention it’s freezing? As I shiver in front of my computer with my puffy jacket on, all I can think about is how amazing it would be to lie inside a nice heated box for a while. I tanned A LOT during my teenage years. I started tanning because all my friends did it, and I continued to tan because I was slightly obsessed with being the darkest of the group. I eventually stopped after my freshman year of college because I just couldn’t continue to blow money on 20-minute bronzing sessions, 2 times a week. Now, at 28, I have the extra cash to resume the habit, but I don’t because I have a goal to look 25… FOREVER. I now shun the sun, tanning beds, and other fun things all in the name of never aging. I know, I know. I could avoid the UV rays and get a spray tan instead, but they sound like more trouble than they’re worth. You have to make sure you’re well exfoliated so it doesn’t come out blotchy, the results only last a few days, and you risk looking more oompa-loompa than sun-kissed. So instead, I think about that Friends episode where Ross gets a spray tan, have myself a little chuckle, and resume my pale, pasty life as is. I know, I know. My anti-tanning stance aside, I recently received a request from a reader who described herself as “pasty and not pleased about it”, and asked me to write a post that included some tanning coupons. I just LOVE requests, so here it goes: 1. If, like me, you try to avoid UV rays, but unlike me are open to spray tans, HERE is a Deal Chicken offer for $10 for a single spray tan ($20 value), or $37.50 for 4 spray tans (a $75 value) at Vixen Lashes and Nail Bar. You’ll want to hurry on this one though, time to purchase this deal is limited. 2. Here are a couple of offers from Sienna Tan. You can get 2 FREE tans in any UV bed or you can receive 20% OFF any service or membership enrollment. They also offer different coupon offers on their website. 3.Sunset Beach has some great tanning offers HERE. You can get 1 week of tanning for only $10, you Buy One Get One FREE, or get 20% OFF any tanning package over $30. These coupons are good until 8/15/14.
4. Purchase 1 tan and get the second FREE at Sun Bear Tanning on Harmony. You could also go the sunless tan route and get 2 Mystic Spray tans for $48. See their offers HERE. 5. Sunsation Tanning Salon on Lemay doesn’t have any coupons out, but they do run specials every month and offer “early bird” deals: $5 tans before noon. If you use any of these coupons or if you think I need to re-think my stance on tanning and spray tanning, leave me a comment and let me know!
