One of the things I like so much about living in Fort Collins is how close we are to Denver. I wouldn't want to live in Denver, but I do like living close enough to take advantage of some of the big city perks, like the zoo and museums.
Of course, I don't want to spend a ton of money when I go down, so I like to keep up with the FREE days around the city. Most of these days are funded, in part, by taxes collected through the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District. Others are funded by corporate sponsorship. This month, you can take advantage of the following FREE DAYS:
In 2017, you'll have 9 FREE days to look forward to at the Denver Zoo! Head down with the family on January 12, 20 and 21; February 2, 12 and 13; and November 3, 6 and 16.
The zoo is on winter hours during all the FREE days (10am - 4pm). The grounds shut down at 5.
Mark your calendars, because November is full of FREE days down in Denver:
Tomorrow, Thursday, February 18th is the last FREE day at the Denver Zoo until November, so if you're looking for some family fun on the cheap, head on down. The weather report says Denver will have a high of 74 tomorrow. You read that right, 74 degrees in February! Despite the nice weather, the zoo is still on winter hours, so from 10am - 4pm. The ground officially close at 5.
If you've got kids, you know there is always a scramble to find safe trick-or-treating opportunities. That is why I wanted to remind you that you could take the family to Boo After Dark at the Denver Zoo on Friday, October 30 or Saturday, October 31, where there will be over 25 trick-or-treat stations, creepy crawly animal demos, and family-friendly entertainment. You must purchase tickets for entry, and if you purchase them BEFORE October 23, you'll get $5 OFF ticket office pricing. Please note that if you' a Denver Zoo member, your membership does not cover admission to this event, and you must still purchase tickets.
Admission Pricing (before discount): $17 for adults; $12 Children.
If you're a teacher or a school employee, you are elgible to receive a discount on tickets to the Denver Zoo for the remainder of 2015.
